Policies

1 To maintain, enhance and rehabilitate the suite of habitats typical of coastal Suffolk, namely reedbed,heath,lowland wet grassland,woodland and shingle for their nationally important breeding and wintering bird assemblages and other important flora and fauna.

2 To maintain the integrity of the estate and equipment,and manage the reserve with full reference to Health and Safety standards, the Partnership's "Greening" policy and reserve Environmental Audit.

3 To identify the areas of key conservation or strategic importance within the vicinity of the reserve.

4 To maintain current low-key visitor facilities by the provision of nature trails,reserve guide,car parking and information hut at Aldeburgh. To consider,in conjunction with the Marketing department,the extension of visitor facilities to include viewing hides and an information centre.

5 To maintain regular contact and cordial relations with our landlords, neighbouring landowners,the Coast & Heaths Project, local town and parish councils, RSPB Memberstgroups,the local community and all relevant national authorities.

6 To carry out predator control experiments in conjunction with the RSPB research dept.
